Video language

The videos were created using the ARES Kudo program in English. Therefore, all commands and dialog boxes shown in the video are in this language. However, ARES Kudo supports 14 languages, just like ARES Commander does. These include: 

• English
• German
• Portuguese
• Japanese
• Korean
• Spanish
• French
• Italian
• Polish
• Russian
• Simplified Chinese
• Traditional Chinese
• Czech
• Hungarian

Some translations of this course into other languages are based on the English videos, with voiceovers in a different language added on top, and the option to enable subtitles.

Note: Some translations include the recreation of the videos in their local languages, such as Japanese.

Subtitles in videos

For the videos that appear in the lessons, you have the option to choose subtitles in various languages. This can be helpful, for example, if you are watching the course on public transport during your commute, or want to avoid disturbing your coworkers with the sound.

You will find the icon for subtitles in the bottom right corner of each video, and you can even deactivate this option if you prefer.

Prior knowledge rating for videos

Throughout the courses, there are many videos that assume the viewer has some level  of prior knowledge. For someone new to using CAD programs, everything will likely feel unfamiliar, while users with experience in CAD software may find certain topics already familiar or easy to grasp. To address this, we have included a rating of up to 5 stars below each video. This system aims to highlight the difficulty level of the topic covered. 

0004.03 - Indicates the level of prior knowledge needed to understand the video topic.

For example:

• A video with 1 star indicates low difficulty, covering a topic that is readily accessible to new CAD users. An experienced CAD user is likely already familiar with or even proficient in this topic; however, watching the video could still be beneficial to confirm that their existing knowledge aligns with how these tools are used in ARES Kudo.
• A video with 3 stars represents a topic that even experienced CAD users might be less familiar with. Watching these videos is recommended for everyone, because the approach in ARES Kudo may differ from other CAD programs.
• A video with 5 stars addresses a topic entirely different from other CAD programs (such as the BIM tools in ARES Commander, which are unique to this program) or covers an advanced subject that is largely unknown, even to experienced users. 

Note: Basic topics are obviously very important, especially for those who are new to the program or to using a CAD program in general. Having one star below the video simply indicates that experienced CAD users may already know the content covered in the video. It does not mean that it is not important.
